The farming of the olive tree in Brisighella dates back to the remote past: already in Roman times the products of this tree were well-known, valued and appreciated.

In this ancient medieval place the passion for this fruit is always alive and the sagra celebrates and promotes the famous 'extra-vergin oil' Brisighello whose quality is recognized by the European Community as a DOP (Protected Denomination of Origin) product.

During the sagra this fine oil can be bought in the streets directly from the producers.
